I have always been fascinated by butterflies. The transformation that happens when a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. During my life I have transformed many times and in many ways and as a result I have grown and learned. Not all of the lessons are fun and most have been downright painful, but I am grateful for all of them. Each one has a story of its own and a pearl of wisdom has emerged from the chaos each time. Most of what I am learning is in hindsight in a way. I am now realizing the knowledge that I have gained over time and discovering just what it means to be fully alive. It’s Not Always About You….

I am really good at tooting my own horn in my blog.  That is mainly what these online diaries are about.  However, I appreciate so much art from around the world that I enjoy featuring work that I love from time to time.

Today’s featured artist is Betty Cummings.  Betty is an American artist living in CO and FL.  She is well established in galleries and juried art shows, but new to online exhibition.  Her work is full of rich colors and delightful contrast.  She is a great painter and also happens to be my Mother In Law.  There is no shortage of art around my home and I am fortunate to have two original pieces from Betty proudly displayed in the entryway to my house.

My abstract digital artwork for today is exploring the idea of a broken heart. Welcome to my golden world of bright imagination and tender comfort. I am also exploring a world without good and bad as constraints. How would this look if I was able to have tragedy in my life without feeling bad about it. Would I be able to look beyond the initial sudden emotion and make my way into a realm of peace and understanding? As I pondered this question I created this artwork.
