The Stanley Hotel Panorama Art print

If you are ever in Estes Park Colorado, The Stanley Hotel is a must see.  Last trip up  to RMNP I thought I’d do a wide angle shot of the front of the hotel.  There are mountains all around this incredible landmark that was the inspiration for the Book “The Shining”, and the view from the front of the hotel gives a view of Rocky Mountain National Park snow covered peaks.  Custom Colorado fine art prints available online –  The Stanley Hotel Panorama

It was built by Freelan Oscar Stanley of Stanley Steamer fame and opened on July 4, 1909, catering to the rich and famous, including the RMS Titanic survivor Margaret Brown, John Philip Sousa, Theodore Roosevelt, the Emperor and Empress of Japan, and a variety of Hollywood personalities. The hotel and its surrounding lands are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Facing The Unknown

What is known in life can feel comfortable and yet the unknown is where I feel that true vision lies. I am struggling with the idea of starting over in the middle of my life. What will it be like to begin again a life I have never known?

My artwork today is exploring the idea of the unknown and making it beautiful. There is a certain amount of mystery and suspense woven into the deep blue of background consciousness. Life is represented in glowing shades of flesh and spirit. Look carefully to see the hidden places with the knowledge contained within. As I created this piece I was pondering the idea that life is color and color is life. I feel as though I can write a story into being using only shades of imagination. My characters are dynamic and static and electric. They live in…
